The Layered Garden:
Design Lessons for Year-Round Beauty from Brandywine Cottage

by David Culp

I have read this book cover to cover at least three times, and each time gain additional insight into how to create gardens with extended succession bloom. Beautifully photographed, this book details David Culp's strategies for pushing the envelope for 4 season interest. I have been fortunately to have met David and toured some of his favorite "secret" wholesale gardens in the Philadelphia area. His passion for gardening and plants is infectious, and this book perfectly captures his easy manner and carefree style - a great read for beginner and advanced gardeners!
